Most travel eSIM plans are data-only. You can still use internet-based services such as WhatsApp, iMessage, FaceTime, Messenger, maps, email and translation apps while connected to mobile data in de Vietnam.
If you use all your data, you can buy another eSIM plan when needed. There is no physical SIM swap, so adding more travel data is usually easier than finding a local SIM card during your trip.
